How the program works
The approach is instructive and interactive. Participants attend five in-person, eight-hour educational sessions that are led by nationally recognized experts and personnel from the University of Florida. The Foundation for Healthy Floridians covers the cost of materials, speaker fees, lodging and sponsored meal expenses.
Young physicians are vital to organized medicine, and the Leadership Academy provides a pathway for them to shape the future. Nearly half (48.5 percent) of the program’s graduates so far have served or currently serve on FMA councils and committees.
The Karl M. Altenburger, M.D. Physician Leadership Academy is made possible by a generous grant from The Physicians Foundation.
